Leftist Denial

From the Huffington Post to the Daily Kos, everywhere you look on the left side of the aisle the execution of Saddam is being belittled and attacked. There is more "concern" for the death of Saddam than there was concern over what Saddam had been doing. Disproved numbers of fatalities are used and the mantra "Bush Lied" run amok. These people see George Bush as more evil than Saddam. They cite past actions by past Presidents to try and label George as a hypocrite. They are playing word games with everything that has happened. If you're going to deny the truth then you should at least reference the truth.

The reason the world is in the state it is in is because of actions, or inactions, of previous generations. The Cut and run crowd of Vietnam became the end of the world crowd during Reagan's tenure. They are beyond cut and run now. First Ronald Reagan was going to bring on nuclear annihilation. Now George Bush is going to be the destroyer of the world. These people were wrong before, they're wrong again. The people who wish to destroy the world are in the papers and on the news everyday. George Bush is not one of these people.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants to rule the Middle East. He will do so by obtaining nuclear weapons and blackmailing the region. He claims to be the harbinger of the Mahdi. He is willing to do whatever is necessary to bring his Mahdi down from the mountain. That requires destruction on a massive scale. This requires murder of the infidels. Yet George Bush is considered the kook.

Bashir Assad is party to the actions of Mahmoud. Whatever happens he will lay claim to a big portion of the guilt. The death and destruction that will come will find a place at his doorstep.

The pseudostinians are killing themselves and trying to kill Israelis. They claim they want a country of their own but won't take it when offered. They claim they want to build their own economy yet they have destroyed anything that could provide a living for the people.

According to the left, this is all George Bush's fault. Never mind the fact that these problems existed prior to George taking office. Never mind that past Presidents and other world leaders have failed to correct the problems in the Middle East. Never mind that money and education have not fixed the problem. If anything the money has exacerbated the issue.

America is not the problem. Islamists, Socialists, and Communists are. Ism's based in fantasyland do not belong in the real world. Money is not an answer it is a tool. Compassion has as much a chance at destroying something as it does fixing it. Blaming George Bush for the problems in the Middle East is the equivalent of blaming you for your Grandparent's divorce. It's about time the left pull it's head out of this imaginary fantasyland and start researching real answers to the actual problems.

Human Failure

What did you see when you looked at Saddam Hussein? Were you able to set aside his murders and torture? Were you able to see the man sitting in a chair or did you always see his actions? Saddam Hussein represented what every man can turn himself into. The atrocities he perpetuated were not beyond the reach of any living human being. Now that he is gone, there will be 10 others ready to take his place. Saddam Hussein was not the first, nor will he be the last, mass murderer on earth. As I write this, men like Robert Mugabe, Kim Jong-il, Khalid Misha'al, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Osama Bin Laden, and others are out there scheming for their rise to supreme power. One down, eternity to go.

When I first looked at Saddam Hussein all I could see were the pictures of Kurds who had been gassed. Each time I saw him I was reminded of atrocity after atrocity. It seemed that everytime I saw him, the more I tried to distance him from what I perceived as humanity. Then one day it hit me. Seeing him sitting in the courtroom, I saw a man that could've been sitting in a coffee shop reading a newspaper. A man at a grocery store. A man stopping into a 7/11 to get some coffee. In short, I saw everyman. Yes this man was evil. His atrocities were reprehensible and he received the punishment he deserved. But he was also a human being.

I always resented hearing people claim that other people were animals. The designee is always somebody who has murdered or raped. Animals don't do these kind of things. Animals kill to defend or feed. They don't kill for pleasure or power. We try to put human characteristics onto animals just so we can have a grasp of how they live and survive. This is as much a mistake as putting misperceived animal characteristics onto human action. Saddam Hussein was not an animal. He as a human being. This idea is far scarier than if he could be proven to have been an animal.

If Saddam Hussein was acting as a human, then mankind is polluted. All men are capable of murder, rape, torture, and any other sickening act you can think. Just when you think man can't act any worse, something more atrocious comes along. After each action, the ability to explain it away gets harder and harder. Psychology cannot justify the actions, only the denial of the people around the actions. At some point the denial will be unjustifiable.

This leads me to a question. Which is more evil? Saddam Hussein or those who allowed is actions to happen? Saddam was an evil and treacherous man. BUt isn't it more evil to see a wrong and do nothing? Is it more evil to see your neighbor taken away to be tortured and killed and yet do nothing? Is it more evil to do business with a man who is murdering people on a whim? Is it more evil to call an evil man friend?

Mankind is guilty of Saddam's evil. Had mankind acted as righteous as we like to say we are then Saddam Hussein would not have come to power. Now that he is dead he will have even more enablers than he did when he was alive. His actions will be excused and justified. His childhood will take precedence over his adult life. In reality, what is being said is that we refuse to acknowledge our culpability in the matter and will try to justify our inaction.

How many people would still be alive today had we taken out Saddam Hussein early on? How many people will die now because we refuse to take out evil men? Men we know are evil and are killing people for power and money? The same excuses used for Saddam are now being given to others. We are continuing man's downward spiral into annihilation. Man sure is a sorry animal.

Actual Saddam Hangs (video)

The video, as the previous, is grainy. The initial fall is seen and then a few seconds later you see Saddam dead.

The scene is graphic. I recommend caution when viewing.

Saddam Hangs II

The link below goes to an AP video. The video appears to have been taken by a cell phone camera. This video appears to include everything up to the hanging. I am still searching for the actual hanging.

Death Penalty

I am for the death penalty. Not because it may have an impact on a future criminal undertaking. I believe that there are people who have given up there right to live. Murdering another human being cannot be justified through monetary payouts or years in jail. The murderer has shown his lack of respect for life and what little value he has placed on his own. Not all murders are eligible for the death penalty. Crimes of passion can be seen as such. Serial killing is not a crime of passion. Raping and murdering a women or a girl is not a crime of passion. Gassing people to their deaths or torturing them for the sake of torture is not a crime of passion. Walking in on your spouse having an affair is not the same as walking people into a gas chamber.

The anti Death Penalty people are out crying the woes of Saddam Hussein and his unjust punishment. If this man didn't deserve to die, who does? To all of you anti Death Penalty types, what would you have done if your daughter was raped? What would you have done if your son was kidnapped, raped and then murdered? What would you do if you walked in on your wife being raped? Would you sit down and try to understand what drove the rapist or murderer to do what he did? Would you put on a pot of coffee and chat for awhile?

As human beings we all have a sense of survival and self defense. Allowing Saddam Hussein to live as long as he did went against our very nature. The tragic part is that there are many more out there like him. Some in positions of power others living right next door. The death penalty may or may not prevent other crimes from happening. The affect really doesn't matter to me. Allowing these people to walk around alive shows that we have very little respect for lives around us.

Saddam got what he deserved. As far as I'm concerned it should have been more painful. But we don't revel in pain. We don't glorify the deaths of others no matter how wicked they may have been. We punish and move on. There was no punishment on the face of this planet that could have made up for the atrocities that Saddam ordered and conducted. He received the only punishment that could prevent him from doing it again.

Threaten my family, prepare to die. Threaten my country, prepare to die. The voices of hundreds of thousands dead were clamoring for vengeance and retribution. They received as much as we humans can give. The tragedy is that we allowed this to go on for so long. There is no joy in Saddam's death. He represented the depths at which Human Beings can sink. We don't need these kind of reminders as to our failures. We have a tendency to focus on our failures more than our successes. There was no joy, only relief, and sorrow. Relief that he will be killing no more. Sorrow that we have failed our fellow human beings by not stopping this sooner. Sorrow that a human cab sink so low. Sorrow because we realize he will not be the last one.

Why I can't be a Politician

I have often belittled the politician. They seem to bend whichever way the wind is blowing and are all too willing to sacrifice whatever principles they may have. Maybe it's my naivete or maybe my hardheadedness, but I refuse to sacrifice my own principles for anybody. This alone would prevent me from being a viable candidate as a politicians. The fact that I can sometimes be outright belligerent would be another detriment to running for office.

My biggest drawback would be the simplistic views of right and wrong. I believe that in every situation there is a right answer. Any other answer, by definition, is then wrong. I don't believe in gray areas. My opinions and beliefs are something I have concluded based on experience and conjecture based on known truth. If I find out I am incorrect I make adjustments, try to atone, and move on. Life is too short for any other approach.

I am not willing to make a "deal with the devil" to get what I want. If Al Sharpton and I agreed on something I would not be making a point of showing that off. One question I often ask people when it comes to character is: "If you were stranded in the desert and the devil offered you a glass of water, would you accept it?" The answer I get tells me alot about that person and how far I could trust them. My answer, dying of thirst is not something I would look forward to but it's better than the alternative.

My friend over at Law, Lawyers, and Politics as posted two articles on the Colorado Republican Party and it's failure to utilize blogs: Wake up to Blogs and Nightsapper. The major problem with the Colorado Republican party is the cronyism and old boy network that has not been of value for quite sometime. By relying on their "party" as opposed to their people, they are failing both. I would prefer a man to run on his principles as opposed to the Party Line. Once beholden to a party, you sacrifice any hopes of being who you are. I m not saying that party's are worthless. I am saying that the party is beholden to the people not the other way around. If the party is vacuous then so are it's representatives.

I recommend reading LLP's blogs on Colorado Politics. They are very enlightening. Even if you're not from Colorado, these issues are probably very similar to the ones in your state.

Next! HRW and their ilk

Pardon me if I don't jump for joy. I am happy that Saddam Hussein is dead. Though hanging is deemed archaic, I believe he got off lightly. The slow torturous death that his subjects, and the Kurds, had to experience can never be made up for. Although H#ll is the ultimate painful experience, I don't even see that as equal punishment for what Saddam is guilty of.  There was not a punishment on this earth that could provide justice to those that suffered at his hand. This being said, I'M GLAD HE'S DEAD. To any of his supporters out there, you're next.

I don't limit his supporters to Ba'athists or his Fedayeen. I include his sympathizers and enablers. These are the so called "Human Rights" groups that have protested the trial. Add  Ramsey Clark and his ilk and you have a gaggle more disgusting than Saddam himself. These people were willing to ignore all the facts and claim that Mr. Hussein didn't deserve death. If this case doesn't warrant death, what does? These are the same kind of people who would sit down and talk to the rapist of their wives and daughters right after the event occurred. They are not human beings. A human being has a natural sense of survival and defense.Killing is a part of that inherent nature. Destroying a threat is the most natural of human responses. Saddam was an evil man and his death was long overdue.

Now the threat is not only from maniacal despots but the people that claim to want to hel0p others. How do you help others by sponsoring the very individual that is oppressing them? WHy is it that murderous thugs have more rights than those they have murdered? Why is it acceptable to murder out of rage but not to kill in defense? This is the world we are headed for. Ghouls like Hussein, Ahmadinejad, Castro, and Arafat are to be lionized. They are the true vicitims. The rest of us are just murderous ba$tards. See how this works? The HRW and their ilk can justify anything a murderous thug does. Even if that involves the death of one of their own. Excuses are plenty. It's always someone else's fault.

If you want to see what spun me up this morning, read this report in Al Jazeera:
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/00086B05-1552-4329-BB22-02F15D2E25DF.htm

The last two sections have gotten me wound up pretty good. This is a perfect example of why we can't win this war with our present approach. These surrender monkeys would have us dead before we could defend ourselves. Here's an idea, get rid of them. They support no one. They stand for evil more often than they do good. They are an embarrassment to humanity in a worse manner than Saddam is. They cover up lies and deceit and make justifications for evil while they consider do-gooders to actually be evil. They are a warped bunch of hypocrites. Off with them.

Don't blame America you failed

Why are people more worried about the dignity of an evil despotic man than they are the  thousands he had raped, tortured and killed?  Why do people look upon Fidel Castro as a good man and George Bush as the bad one? Why were people calling for Ethiopia and the Somali government to stop their attacks on the Islamists when they were on the verge of victory? Why is it that evil men are just misunderstood and good man are lambasted? Why do people try to impose their own thinking process into a person that thinks nothing like they do?

What makes a leftist think that everything would be fine of the government controlled all? What makes the elimination of personal responsibility to appealing? The only answer that government can provide is national defense and the enforcement of law and trade. Anything beyond this belongs in the realm of the individual. To hand control of ones future over to the government is to enslave yourself. The leftist has taken "All men are created equal" and warped it into a all societies and ideas are equal. This is not true. Saddam Hussein, Bashir Assad, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong-il, and Fidel Castro are not equal to George W. Bush with all of his flaws. I would even place William Jefferson Clinton above these men. There's one reason, George and William are mine. They are American, flaws, vices, and all that go with them.

Despite their opposing ideologies, they are American. They are part of the American culture. They are pert of the most just and righteous culture on the planet. Xenophobic, who cares. Until other cultures can achieve what we have through individual ingenuity and personal responsibility, we are the superior culture. The only ones who can destroy us is us. Other nations have aligned themselves to attack us militarily and economically. They see our downfall as something worth achieving. Instead of raising themselves up, they want to bring us down. In opposition, we want to bring others up. To all of you "America is evil" crowd, which of these is the more righteous?

Good and evil are not relative. People use words to try and justify certain acts and deeds but they are just empty words. The only ones that believe them are the ones who want to. The ones who have failed and need someone to blame. The ones who have failed and despise others who refuse to give in. America was founded by people who refused to give in. Good or bad, they fought and struggled. Now we live in a generation of people that would deny their forefathers their rightful righteousness. We judge our forefathers based on guilt we have no right to carry. I am not guilty for my Father's, Grandfather's, or Great Grandfather's sins. In fact, I am guilty of no man's sin but my own. I will not judge those that came before based on modern interpretations of civility. There is no man that can make me feel guilty for their actions.

I have achieved and failed in my life based upon my own action or inaction. The government may set the rules but it is my responsibility to live within them. If the government were to have control over my life it's value would be diminished. I would be nothing more than an automaton. When you have handed over your life to the government, you have successfully committed suicide. You no longer have the right to bettering your life or achieving personal goals. In fact, when you hand control over to the government you start speaking French.

Israel's Insanity

Not only won't Ehud Olmert properly defend Israel, his administration is making the same mistakes as previous administrations. For years, the ISraeli government would try to work out deals with Yassir Arafat. Early on, Arafat refused to live up to any pact he signed. Later in years, he was nothing more than a figurehead and ignored. When Mahmoud Abbas tookover the PA, this view of the PA head continued. Mahmoud Abbas has no say in what goes on inside the "Palestinian" territories. He has no say and no authority to enforce any agreements he makes. His fatah party has become a group of factions and Hamas is taking advantage.

Government in "Palestine" does not matter. The people will respond to those who present the biggest threat. Abbas doesn't present a threat to anybody. He is not a moderate as people claim but he is not the extremist that Haniyah is. He is a man that bends the way the wind blows and Hamas knows this. I am still surprised the man is alive. At some point Hamas will feel it has the support it needs and Abbas will die a nasty death.

Iran rules in the "Palestinian" territories. It is money and arms from Iran and Syria that keep the factions at each other's throats as well as Israel's. At some point Kassams will be replaced by true missiles than can do real damage. The day this happens Israel can blame no one but themselves. Ehud Olmert will find himself in a room alone wondering what happened to his grand plans of peace. The price will be paid by the Israeli people. Israeli blood will be spilled and the trail leads back to an election that put Olmert in power. Just as in America, the Israelis got the government they deserved. They not only deserve it, they wanted it.

Nowhere in the PA is there one individual that can speak for all of the "Palestinians." Whether it be Abbas, Haniyah, or Mishaal they cannot stop the violence that is going on. Making deals with them is akin to the three card monty. Enough with the deals. Bring back Netanyahu. Put somebody that will fight for Israel in power. Defeat your enemies instead of making worthless suicidal pacts with them/ You live up to your end of the bargain and they continue breaking theirs. You cannot make peace with these people. To continue believing you can is fantastical and the definition of insanity.

God Save America

I have often complained about the present situation of America's invovlement in the world. Everyone wants us to do something and everybody hates us when we do. Our involvement in Afghanistan, Iraq, and still Bosnia is costing us lives and treasure. I am not one that cares about whether people like us or not. Seeing who other nations kiss up to, I don't want them anywhere near my house.

A great thing happened in the last couple of days. Ethiopia, a country devestated with famine 2 decades ago, has come to the aid of a neighbor. I am not naive to think that this aid was provided out of pure good neighborlyness, theie own security was at risk. Ethiopia and Somalia can't be identified as good friends. If I remember my history properly, Ethiopia and Somalia have fought often about access to the sea. Because of this, I am sure that the Official government of Somalia has worked out some kind of deal with Ethiopia in order to get their support. There is nothing wrong with this. This is a win-win situation.

Somalia gets rid of the Islamist threat and gets it's nation back. Ethiopia gets access to ports and has one less neighbor to worry about. The Somali government must now do everything in it's power to keep the Islamists out as well as set up a society that will benefit it's people. This is where America can help. American educators, doctors, lawyers, and other professionals should lend their expertise in helping pull Somalia out of the gutter it has been in. There should be organizations being setup to get these professionals over there. I recommend surfing the web for Somali support organizations as well as the USAID group.

20 years ago millions of naive kids supported the effort to provide food and medicine to the starving Ethiopians. Today they are capable of fending for themselves and helping their neighbors. Despite the world's hatred for us, this is one incident where we have been proven right. I am sure there is more to Ethiopia's growth than a bunch of charity, but it did play a part. Now it's time to help the others in need.

President Clinton decided to cut and run from Mogadishu. This made the area very unstable. The Ethiopians couldn't afford to live with this kind of fear and have dealt with it. It is not over yet. While the Somali government is trying to build a legitimate infrastructure the Islamists will retaliate as they always do, cowardly attacks and skirmishes. They will go after Somali citizens. Only a steadfast resolve can defeat these people. Ethiopia appears to have that resolve. I hope that the Somali government also has it. Time will tell.

In the meanwhile, America can take some credit for this. A friend that we have helped as helped itself and it's neighbor. We helped the Ethiopians to fish and they have fed themselves and are now teaching others how to fish. It's these little things we do that make the big difference.

God Save America.

More importantly, God Bless America.

Save Darfur

One of the many campaigns I have signed up to support is the one to Save Darfur. I had researched and signed up way before George Clooney thought to input himself in to the international scene.

I recommend visiting the Save Darfur site. You can sign up to receive e-mail updates as well as make donations. Information of the genocide that has occurred there is also available.

Now that Ethiopia has taken Mogadishu maybe the can focus some energy on the Sudan, especially Darfur. It doesn't seem that the rest of the world will do anything. America is busy and the Europeans and the Asians don't seem to care.

Please take a gander.
